Lambano Academy school situated at Wilgespruit, Roodepoort demonstrated a pulsating and flamboyant annual cultural day
celebration on Friday 20 October. Programme directed by the charming educator Ms Gugu Mobela the colourfully clad
learners represented well the choreography themes of diverse mzansi cultures from Cape to Limpopo.
With the sound blast that reverberated the majestic African folklore chants and ululations. The young learners rendered
greetings in all identified mzansi languages.
The Christian based school with emphasis on good values and morals as its solid foundations. School principal Ma’am
Noluthando Nyandeni recited affirmations with the learners loudly and intensely such as; I walk in victory, I’m big, I’m bold
and beautiful! Proudly African and full of wisdom I rule, I reign, born to dominate! I cannot fail – I refuse to fail, failure means
no! Marvellous gestures that conscientise our posterity to boldly know their roots.
Under the stunning stretch tent, the dazzling fashion modelling unleashed a splendid catwalk by young lads and dames. And
not to be left out were the energetic modern sound bits of amapiano, makula dance moves and hip hop style that wrapped
up the well-orchestrated programme. A selection of refreshments on the day included sumptuous African dishes.
