There is an English saying that says “show me your friends and I will show you your future” which simply explains that the company you choose to keep can either make you or even break. This shows just shows the significance of keeping the right people around or better yet being part of the circle of winners.
Being around the wrong group of people can get you unmotivated, having a negative approach to life and even walking down the wrong path in life. Being with the wrong crowd is a basic waste of precious time, you benefit nothing, you learn nothing and cannot be challenged in terms of thinking capacity.
When in the circle of winners, you can be motivated to achieve your goals, you become part of people who only wish you the best and help encourage you to do better and opening up to a whole world of opportunities. They advise you when things go haywire, offering life lessons and proper guidance. It is better to familiarize yourself with people who inspire you to be the best version of yourself.
In my encounters I met a young man by the name of Thabo, he was very hardworking with a matric certificate but unemployed. He was given an opportunity to enrol under the Educators assistance program where he worked at a local school, because he was so determined and willing to learn, he was a favorite amongst stuff members. The educators at the school helped the young man apply for teaching at UNISA and working towards optaining a degree in Education.
When an opportunity presents itself try to work with your local business owners learn the ropes and learn as much as you can.
Someone said to me “empower yourself every Chance you get, the world is full of opportunities” since taking that into account I have learned more, experienced more and developed skills I never had which is beneficial to my development as an individual, this just shows that people who can help are available it is just a matter of engaging with the right people.
