Agape Ministries in Diepkloof ext. 2 served as a venue for launching Evangelist Jabu Mongoma’s new book, ‘The Journey’ on 24 August 2024. Compered by Thabo Mogawa it was an insightful event attended by literary and publishing greats, with captivating motivational speeches that celebrated the occasion. The decoration drapes in the deco background presented a spectacular imaginary heavenly ambience that accentuated the majestic presentation of the author and his influential peers. The big question that ignited the attendees inspiration was what does it take to pen a book?
Dr Anniekie Ravhudzulo who is a publisher herself spoke volumes of Mngoma having persevered in the efforts of producing such stunning work. Having 28 book releases under her belt and still going strong, she mentioned that the Bible is our reference book and that Mngoma’s book touched on real life issues. “When writing a book one has to have a mind map!” She added.
The Journey gives hope as it digs deeper in life’s journey of the author where at some point, he reached such adverse circumstances but eventually found the courage to fight back. It is commendable that significant role players from various aspects in his life journey who also feature in the book, proudly shared in the memorable acknowledgements. The book jacket is well designed and gives the warm triumphant outlook of winning by all means in-spite of the daunting circumstances that life can throw at us. Purpose thrives over odds; resilience is the armour that keeps us going, hope lights through the impossible paths.
The Journey attracted a good number of support evidenced by the full house attendance to the venue, and those queueing up for the signed masterpiece copies they purchased. The launch success elevated Mngoma who dressed like a true African guru, oozing great wisdom and a hearty expression marked a significant milestone of a decorated but humble man’s journey. A Pastor, motivational speaker, facilitator, businessman, men empowerment activist, trauma counsellor and more. In his emotive speech Mngoma inspired his audience that each one of us have our own journey to narrate. “Come out and let’s unearth the unlimited power inside yourself!” He concluded.
